Who does not want to be physically healthy and mentally to face all situations in life?

Many of us are facing the great wall of a short-term sacrifice for the sake of a benefit in the medium and long term.

Before starting to climb such a wall, we must deepen our dream of “being healthy”, what it means and what it is going to make in our lives. As discussed in the other examples, this deepening, sometimes called mentalisation, is a journey into the world of our thoughts, emotions and body, allowing us to get an active awareness of what we want. During this trip is very important to have a coach who can take us by the hand.

Let’s assume the hypothetical case of a person who has certain characteristics:

  • Quite concerned about several personal issues
  • Slight exercise capacity
  • Well organized, able to be involved in different activities in parallel
  • Poor ability to accept both compliments and criticism of others

How would proceed Integral Development sessions towards the dream of being healthy?

We will show an example of hypothetical sessions aligned with this kind of person.

SESSION 1st and 2nd – Integral Development – Sense & Meaning: Coaching deepening into Client’s dreams, what they mean for his life, and the actions he will decide to undertake. Suppose he reaches the final conclusion he is looking for achieving a mental and physical balance.

SESSION 3rd and 4th – Integral Development – Knowledge & Education: Based on the achieved active awareness, Client decides to join a gym and start reading books about healthy eating.

SESSION 5th and 6th – Integral Development – Strengths & Resources: Thanks to Coaching, Client acknowledges difficulties to challenge himself under the belief life is just two days so it makes no sense to take a lot of obligations. Based on the active awareness, he understands healthy eating and taking care of himself rather than an obligation but a source of energy, so he is convinced to start small with a change of habits; Coach/Consultant provided him with literature on healthy habits.

SESSION 7th and 8th – Integral Development – Talent & Virtues: Client acknowledges having a great organizational skills, but current concerns about several personal issues are crippling him. Based on the active awareness, he understands must prepare an agenda and follow it without thinking too much to begin to acquire certain habits .

SESSION 9 th and 10 th – Integral Development – Self-efficacy: Client acknowledges often gets carried away by personal concerns preventing a change in his course of life. During the sessions he learns to improve his self-dialogue controlling his behavior.

SESSION 11 th and 12 th – Integral Development – Social Skills: Client realizes he has a hard time to accept both praise and criticism. He receives training and participates in an Emotional Intelligence workshop. As a consequence he improves in social events accepting compliments and criticism, facilitating the acquisition of new habits.

SESSION 13th and 14th: Monitoring sessions through Coaching, Consulting and Mentoring. Client has already managed to consolidate his new habits, feeling accompanied by us in his achievements, to the final realization of his dream.
